Pace & Hawley, LLC provides client-focused auditing, accounting, and tax services to individuals, businesses, governments and non-profits located in north and central Vermont. The Firm consists of two owners, Robert Pace, CPA and Nathan Hawley, CPA. In addition, the Firm generally employs one to three staff members who assist in the Firm’s auditing, accounting and tax preparation services.

The owners have over 25 years combined experience providing public accounting services to various types of organizations including non-profits, municipalities, school districts and for-profit businesses. The Firm is in full compliance with all professional requirements of the Vermont Board of Accountancy, AICPA, Government Auditing Standards, including maintaining the required level of Continuing Professional Education and having an independent Certified Public Accountant review the Firm’s auditing procedures and quality control manual. This peer review is required for all licensed CPA’s performing audits and was administered through New England Peer Review. Nathan Hawley, CPA – Nathan is the Partner in charge of auditing compliance for the Firm. In addition, he is involved with tax preparation and tax planning for individuals. Prior to founding Pace and Hawley, LLC, Nathan was a Senior Accountant with a local CPA firm where he worked almost exclusively on audits of non-profit organizations and governmental entities. He annually participates in Continuing Professional Education courses on auditing issues specific to non-profit and governmental entities and individual taxation. Nathan is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Robert Pace, CPA – Prior to founding Pace and Hawley, LLC, Robert was the owner of the single-member CPA firm Robert Pace CPA & Company P.C. Robert has been providing tax, accounting and auditing services to various entities including individuals, non-profit organizations, for-profit businesses and governmental entities for many years. He has significant experience performing audits of, and consulting for, governmental entities. Robert is a member of the Vermont Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Wendy Finch, Tax Accountant – Wendy spent more than 30 years in Retirement Plan Administration at National Life Group and retired as a Senior Pension Analyst.  She became a Registered Tax Return Preparer in 2012 and participates in the IRS Annual Filing Season Program.  She has worked at Pace & Hawley, LLC since 2013.

Cheryl Peterson, Office Manager – Cheryl manages the day to day operations of the office as well as providing payroll and bookkeeping services.  Cheryl has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Norwich University.
